Secure Email Access (SEA)

Aruba AirWave Integration: Access Point Management

Administrators can easily access the AirWave Console directly from MobiControl to see triangulated positions of mobile computers using AirWave or quickly access MobiControl from AirWave to track compliance of mobile devices. In addition, Key Rotations for PCI Compliance can now be easily configured to be deployed to both Access points and devices at the same time. By integrating with AirWave as well as Aruba’s other products such as ClearPass, only SOTI can provide customers with a fully-featured end-to-end secure Enterprise Mobility Management solution to manage corporate-liable devices as well as BYOD polices better.

Advanced Security

MobiControl's Advanced Security Center provides administrators with granular control over how mobile devices are used and how data is accessed:

Authentication Policy 

Administrators can set user privileges for logging on to the device. User authentication using Active Directory credentials allows mobile devices to be authenticated on the network using the same credentials that end users use for existing computers / workstations. This eliminates the need for multiple passwords allowing seamless centrally managed user authentication management. MobiControl also supports an alternative user authentication system that can be used in situations where Active Directory user authentication is not required.

Device LockDown Policy 

This allows administrators to replace the standard device home screen and Windows Start button with a customizable home screen that allows users to access only specific applications and web sites, and prevents access to all other applications and device controls. This decreases the amount of downtime caused by users changing settings that may adversely affect the operation of the device or application software, and also decreases support costs.

Application Run Control Policy 

MobiControl integrates tightly with the operating system to prevent restricted applications from running on mobile devices. MobiControl's Run Control Policies are much more efficient and secure than competing whitelist / blacklist solutions which use CPU and battery to constantly poll devices and shut down restricted programs only after they have had a chance to run and cause damage.

File Encryption 

MobiControl provides kernel level file encryption that encrypts data stored directly on mobile devices (onboard storage) as well as on SD / memory cards (external storage) to help businesses achieve compliance with strict data storage and processing regulations. This protects sensitive data if an attempt is made to extract it from the mobile device and access it on another mobile device, computer or data reader by an unauthorized person. MobiControl's policy-based File Encryption uses FIPS 140-2 validated AES-256 encryption algorithms to secure mobile data.

Connection Security Policy 

Protects the integrity of the corporate firewall and internal corporate data by enforcing endpoint authentication (i.e. both client and server certificates) and encrypting all data that travels between mobile devices, MobiControl servers and MobiControl Management consoles. MobiControl encrypts data using standards-based SSL communication and FIPS 140-2 certified algorithms.

Device Feature Control 

MobiControl's Device Feature Control policy allows IT administrators to selectively disable device hardware features. Applying the policy at the individual or group level allows custom profiles for different users and locations in an organization. Disabling Bluetooth and Infrared ports allows administrators to control whether end users can beam business cards, applications or documents to one another. Administrators can also disable cameras and other hardware features in secure facilities.

Set up group and individual voice and data profiles to easily monitor mobile data and voice usage limits.

MobiScan is a new device software component that facilitates the quick and easy provisioning of a device right out of the box by simply scanning a barcode. It can be pre-loaded on any Windows Mobile or Windows CE powered device that has a barcode scanner. In MobiControl, the ability to generate barcodes for initial device configuration is offered directly from the Device Agent Manager.

Standalone Authentication

MobiControl now features improved standalone authentication that can be used independently or in combination with Active Directory authentication. It allows for the specification of usernames and passwords to restrict access to both the MobiControl Manager and MobiControl Web. Standalone Authentication facilitates password-protected access for those who don’t have AD.

Device Provisioning

Using group policies, you can automatically deploy software and data to devices in the field in real-time over any network (WiFi, cellular, cradled, etc.). SOTI's advanced compression and check pointing algorithms allow data to be delivered even over very slow and unstable connections, saving IT departments months of work, and truly enabling organizations to realize the ROI of mobile device deployments sooner.

Location Based Services / Geofencing

MobiControl's Location Services functionality provides the ability to locate, track and gather information of your GPS enabled devices, no matter where they are in the world. 

Whether you need to confirm the current location of a particular mobile device or collect historical information on the movement of a group of devices in order to analyze performance, MobiControl's Location Services can help. The GPS receiver on mobile devices transmits location data up to the MobiControl server, where it is processed and stored. Administrators running the MobiControl Management Console can then track and locate the devices graphically on a map. Devices can be tracked and mapped in real-time, or their historical movements can be charted. Data collection settings can be modified from the Management Console to control certain aspects of how information is collected from the GPS receiver. 

Geofencing enhances Location Services by allowing you to monitor your mobile devices and the workers that use them with Geofence Alerts. With Geofencing, defined actions are executed automatically when devices enter or exit pre-specified geofenced areas. You can also retrieve the postal address of any device's current location, send driving directions to the mobile device from the helpdesk and access live traffic condition reporting.
