IT Work and Bangkok Systems & Software has taken their share of the Market's by installation the systems at the Southern Boarder and the Parliament House.

The Manufacturer and Marketer of Fingerscan systems IT.WORKS got a major surprised when they got a windfall from the activities at the Southern Boarder Provinces to developed the Fingerscan System for Boarder Crossing points with the Pilot Project to start the 3 Southern Provinces while Bangkok Systems & Software Co.,Ltd is busy installing the same system for the Parliament House to be used for their staff and at the same time informing that they will be exporting the locally developed products to the International Market in the very near future.

Mr. Polaphathra Udomphol , the Business Development Manager of IT Works a manufacturer of Biometric Based Fingerscan system informed our editor that The Immigration Department has assigned them to developed the E-Border Pass to authenticate people crossing the border by using their finger prints with a budget of 10-20 Million Baht. “ We have developed the entire border crossing documentation system which will also have their Finger Prints and when they are crossing the border , the system will check their finger prints at the Central Database to authenticate the person automatically.

Mr. Polaphathra Udomphol also mentioned that the system is already installed at the 3 Southern Provinces of Narathiwat, Yala and Pattani which have total of 7 Border Crossing Check points. The system will be fully implemented by August 2548. The company has set a goal of 100 Million Baht revenue comparing to 40-50 Million Baht last year.

On the Other hand, Kenny Nawani the CEO of Bangkok Systems & Software Co., Ltd. Manufacturer of Finger scan system under the brand name of MINUTIAE said that recently his company was awarded the contract to install the Finger Scan based Time Attendance System using the top of the series “Premier” model totaling 10 sets at different locations which has the users capacity of more than 10,000 users

At present we are offering 3 models which are

1. PREMIER at the market rate of Baht 45,000 per unit.

2. PRO is being sold at 39,000 Baht

3. SME price is Baht 25,000

At present, many organizations especially those which are labor based are switching over to Finger scan based Time Attendance system .

Kenny clarify that the advantage of using this system is that can help reducing the operation cost such as cut out the over head expenses on the Card Management such as Loss of the cards or defective cards or using the duplicate cards and maintenance cost of the Card Readers. The main advantage however is that it can 100% prevent the BUDDY Punching which help in reducing the bill of wages to the tunes of 5-15 % which is due to cheating of the Time Attendance, Buddy Punching or cheating on the OT and the survey shows that maximum cheating happens in the Government Agencies. The payback period is between 5-6 months.

Apart from using the system for Time Attendance , this can also be used for Access Control System by connecting the out put to the Electric Locks installed the doors or any other electronically controlled doors and to enhance the security system , a CCTV can also be connected to the system.

Kenny is planning to export his product to the neighboring countries such as HONG KONG , SINGAPORE , CHINA and MALAYSIA by middle of 2549 and have set a revenue target of 50 Million Baht an increase of 10 % from the previous year.
