SELLING THE DIFFERENCE : Is the Marketing
Concept of Bangkok Systems & Software Management team.
The worst part of the
family oriented business is that there is no center point and every
thing is accepted while running the business professionally has got its
own minus point that some times it seems to be cruel especially when you
have to fire the non-performing staff. Because of these problems we have
opted to the middle path of managing the company by getting the good
points of both the systems.
On the I/T route, we have to admit that Kenny Nawani is one of the
pioneer in marketing the fingerscan based Time Attendance System and
today he has got several
reputed organization as his clients
because of the above mentioned concept that WE SELL THE
DIFFERENCE, because not many people are in the field and it is not easy
for every body to break into the business. To be success in this field ,
one must have got sufficient experience to achieve the goal.
Kenny Nawani informed us that today his company has got many
National Level Organizations such as : Govt. Saving Bank or Thanakarn
Omsin, Mahidol University, Advance Information Services, Ram Kamheang University and above all is the
Trust given to the Company by the Parliament’s Secretariat who
selected the system for their Staff’s Time Attendance. All above
mentioned are using the system for Time Attendance . There are a lot of
user’s who are using the system for Access Control in their premises
such as : Govt.Saving Bank has been using the system provided by the
company for their I/T Building as well as for their Cash Transaction
Room. While many Universities are using the system for the students to
enter the dormitories instead of using the Key Card System.
When asked if he is happy with the achievement. He replied no at
all. He feels that the Market’s acceptance has been very slow and it
should move faster than today. He agrees that they have got the success
upto a certain level,but that is not the end and they can not stop it
there because once they stop,that means they are going backward.
He is very optimistic that TOMORROW HAS TO BE BETTER THAN TODAY.
Kenny Nawani, 31
years old son of Thai-Indian Parents having a good and stable financial
background did his schooling at Seventh Day Adventist School and then
went to USA for High School as well as Graduation in BMA at Mount Ida
College in the year 2000. Initially, he has planned to work in some of
the Private Companies to gain working experience, but as luck has
planned for him . At that time Bangkok Systems & Software was having
a problem of finding a Senior Executive, the Position left vacant by one
of his uncle for whom his father has started the company .
15 years ago by his
father financed the company
for one of his brother in law from India who was specialized in the
Software for Accounting as well HR and left the company to be managed by
his father totally new to the I/T. In that situation , he had no choice
but to come to his father’s assistance.
Once into the hot pot, he started to use his education into
practice as wile he was in USA , they taught him how to think for
running the business.
Until then, he was totally unknown to the daily life as every thing was showered on him by his
parents. This was totally different when he was having education in USA
,that he has to learn how to manage himself as a grown up person which
he thinks is correct method as one has to manage his own life anyway.
Today he has been running the company for the last 5 years and in
this 5 years the operation has changed from Family Style run business to
a proper Business Establishment by hiring professionals in each field to
manage their horizon. But this does not mean that they have totally
thrown out the Family style, they are
still maintaining some of plus points of family style and adapt
them with the Business way operation. The most obvious example of this
is that , when a person becomes none productive, in family run business
if the owners is not in a good mood, he will shout and ready to throw
out the person. Next day, when he is in a better mood, he changes his
verdict. While in the Business Style, the relationship and sentiments
value does not count at all irrespective of the dedication the person
might have put in the past.
At present, every thing is done and agreed by vote counting and
all this is done keeping a written record. This is very important
because the new staff might have a different perspective and he should
also be given a chance to prove his worth.
At the end of the interview, Kenny said that they will still
maintain the operation in the same manner that the entire staff lives
together as a family not forgetting that every now and they even the
family members do have arguments and clashes. So , how does it matter if
that happens.
